Datasym.POS (DPOS) represents a new generation of till software for a new generation of tills.
DPOS has been developed with a background of 25 years of continuous evolution as the
characteristics of till hardware have changed.
During this time, earlier versions of DPOS have been installed in more than 5,000 tills in the UK and elsewhere.
DPOS is uniquely positioned for use by all types of retail environment and all sizes of retailer.
DPOS allows for ease of installation
with an existing system or as part of a
new installation.

Modern tills increasingly have touch screens as standard because the cost overhead is now minimal, especially if the cost of a PoS Keyboard can be avoided. Although touch screen till software has been available for many years in hospitality systems, general retail software has depended on the use of a
keyboard to avoid limiting the functionality even if a touch screen option is available, .
DPOS provides on-screen functionality for all till operations while still offering a highly-configurable till system for a wide variety of retail environments, from food stores to all forms of high-street retail; and from
pubs to fast food to fine dining.
DPOS may be configured for single or multi-till installations in single or multi-branch retail operations. Large PLU files, (e.g. more than 100,000 PLU’s) are handled without performance degradation.
DPOS will usually be supported by a
back-office or head-office system with
data being downloaded. However all till data may be maintained locally under password control.
DPOS may also be installed as a free-standing system in most retail environments.
DPOS includes as standard options:
EFT processing, integrated Weigh Scales, Special barcodes for weighed items and Journals, Stock Movement Recording, PostCode Recognition, Phone Number
Recognition, Waiter Terminals, Fingerprint Recognition and a wide variety of configurable options for different retail environments.
